Encyclopedia of Color Correction – Peachpit 2006
In this illustration, I wanted to show a transformation of color through an abstract framing device. Color science has wonderful elaborations on charting and graphing color space. Sample points from the outside world cross over into a quantized marking language and lookup table which folds back on itself and creates it’s own geometric form, analagous to but completely living in it’s own reality. This was an impressionistic endeavor to show the variation and vast differences between organic/real-world of color and it’s breakdown into representation in the digital realm.
I completed the piece entirely in 2d to explore the purity of geometric projection, and silhouette.
Completed fall 2006.
